‘It’s your job, but you ignore him’: Man United fans slams one player for leaving Cole Palmer unmarked

One event that took place only moments before Cole Palmer sealed all three points for Chelsea seems to have confused football fans in general.

Palmer had scored the third goal, which Manchester United had just given up through a penalty.

Palmer was left unmarked near the box’s edge a few seconds later. The most annoying thing is that when four players noticed he was unmarked, they just raised their palms and did nothing to confront the threat.

Palmer scored an incredible hat-trick, as was to be predicted, and Man United suffered yet another heartbreaking defeat.

While some supporters believe it was Marcus Rashford’s responsibility as the left winger to handle that area, others are criticizing the entire team.

???? Sensei7lack: “Low key Rashford’s error that palmer was unmarked. That’s his job as left winger.”

???? UnitedNChill: “How tf does Cole Palmer go unmarked on the edge of the box on that corner. Fucking shambles.”

???? UtdGlory: “Every Manchester United player on the pitch pointed at an unmarked Cole Palmer before he scored the winner. Not one Manchester United player went towards him. Maybe they were pointing at Erik ten Hag to go and mark him. Players, no accountability.”

???? Isaacyts: “It seems Rashford is not aware while walking back. Mount, who should push out, was aware the threat at the penalty area has to be covered (originally by Rashford) and stayed there, allowing Palmer unmarked. In other def.corners, the LW is the one responsible for opp. outside the box.”
