The making of Jadon Sancho
Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Joe Gomez and Ryan Sessegnon – who are likely to form the core of England’s starting XI in the coming years – are among the many players flying the flag for cage football.
“If you look at Jadon Sancho or Callum Hudson-Odoi, they aren’t traditionally English-style players like David Beckham or Paul Scholes and have games that are more about flair,” says Harry Hudson, a former Crystal Palace academy coach. “It is also very competitive in South London – there is a certain resilience that players have to have to be successful.”
Sancho has shown the ‘flair’ Hudson alludes to with a series of eye-catching displays for Dortmund this season. Ultimately, Sancho’s job is to provide goals and assists – something he’s done 29 times in just 23 Bundesliga matches – but it’s his flamboyance which makes him so entertaining.
“No one cared if you lost the ball because it was like free-styling sessions,” Sancho says of his skills-schooling in South London. “Everyone is just doing skills against each other – trying to embarrass people, that kind of thing.
However, with Jadon Sancho connection with his Childhood friends likes of Hudson-odio, Loftus Cheek and also Tammy Abraham has paved way for the young talent to Join Chelsea in summer.
