Kai Havertz was given his Premier League debut in Chelsea’s opening game against Brighton, as the Blues won 3-1.

Havertz didn’t impress against Brighton, and was as well disappointing in the game against Liverpool as the Blues were beaten 2-0.

Havertz was subbed off at half-time, following the the red card given to Andreas Christensen, having failed to make an impact on the game.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has said that Havertz doesn’t fit the Chelsea set-up and that he should be played as a number 10. The Liverpool legend also thinks that the false nine role he was told to play against Liverpool didn’t suit him.

Carragher told Sky Sports: “I do look and think, ‘where does Havertz play? Where does he fit into a 4-3-3?’

“He almost looks like a No. 10 and we don’t see them as much in football now. Where he played today, I don’t think that suited Chelsea.”
