Chelsea have agreed to sign IFK Gothenburg’s talented young winger Edwin Andersson.

The deal has been confirmed by IFK Gothenburg.

The 16 year old left-footed winger, who turns 17 in November, also had interest from Manchester United where he underwent a trial 18 months ago.

Confirming Andersson’s move to Chelsea, IFK Gothenburg academy manager Jonas Olsson told Gothenburg’s official website:

“We of course wish Edwin good luck. We would have liked to have seen him stay with us but that he is being recruited to Chelsea is a good mark on our business.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is hoping to add Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho to the Chelsea squad in the summer after the club confirmed he will be backed with a transfer budget of £150 million in the summer.
