According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Serie A club Lazio are leading the race to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the summer.
Lazio are said to have put forward an impressive case to the World Cup winner, so much so that they now look favourites for his signature.
Giroud was close to leaving Chelsea during the January transfer window after struggling for game time but remained at the club after Chelsea failed to sign a replacement.
He has returned to the starting XI in recent weeks and scored in Chelsea’s 4-0 thrashing of Everton.
Despite his return to the starting XI, Giroud is still expected to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract with Chelsea expires.
Inter Milan are also interested in signing Giroud in the summer but Lazio leads the race for the World Cup winner.
