Just in: Tuchel finally confirms when Lukaku will make his Chelsea debut under him
On Wednesday Chelsea confirmed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan, as the club break its transfer record to bring back the Belgian International to Stamford Bridge once again.
However, according to recent reports, Lukaku has vowed to do well in his second coming at the club, and his return to Chelsea has been deemed as a homecoming for the former Inter Milan and Manchester United striker.
Addressing the media ahead of the game against Crystal Palace, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed that the new striker will make his debut in our second league game of the season, away at Arsenal.
Saturday’s clash against Crystal Palace have come too soon for Lukaku as he hasn’t trained with the squad, and had to obey quarantine rules.
“Romelu is still in quarantine and following the protocols,” Tuchel told reporters. “He will be out on Monday doing the whole training with us next week and will play for us against Arsenal. This is the plan.
“We always try to do it as fast as possible and the sooner the better. As I said, if we could have wished for something, he would have been maybe on the pitch and available for even Wednesday.
“But the sooner the better, because every game counts and we are happy.”
