Lots of Chelsea fans were left stunned by the massive performance of Mateo Kovacic against Tottenham, as the Croatia international dominated the midfield in the 2-1 win.
Frank Lampard has chopped and changed in midfield this season, with Jorginho, Kovacic and N’Golo Kante all getting their fair share of chances to impress.
Kovacic may well have proven himself as the best of the lot in recent weeks though, and the £40m summer signing (BBC) was simply sensational again on Saturday.
Per Sofascore, the 25 year-old created one big chance in the match, completed all five of his dribble attempts and a superb 94% of his passes while also pitching in on the defensive end, making two interceptions and winning six of his 11 duels.
Fans have been fawning over his display on social media, hailing the midfield maestro for his ‘passing masterclass’ and claiming £40m for his services was a ‘bargain’,.
