Lampard gives his take after Sheffield draw

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has commented on a disappointing 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.

Tammy Abraham gave the Blues a two-goal lead before the break, only for Callum Robinson to get one back straight after the halftime.

The game was eventually decided by Kurt Zouma’s own goal on the 89th minute.

“We have to take responsibility, we allowed that to happen,” Lampard told BBC about the equaliser. “It was on us to take the game away from them and we allowed them to get back into it.

“If we can’t go on and get a third goal that’s something we have to work on, this is the Premier League, it’s ruthless. At 2-0 up you have to take advantage of it.”

“It was under control, it is our fault for gifting them a goal in the first minute of the second half. It’s a similar story already,” the manager reiterated.

“The game should have been comfortable and we have dropped two points. We want to win games, the emergence of youth is one thing but winning games is another.

When you are 2-0 up at half-time you should win the game.
