RB Leipzig striker and Chelsea target Timo Werner will leave the club this summer, according to European football expert Andy Brassell.
Olivier Giroud has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months as he has shown his unhappiness at not being first choice at Stamford Bridge, with Frank Lampard even admitting that he could have let the Frenchman leave the club in the winter window, if he keeps pushing for an exit.
And German striker Werner, is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, with reports in the media all suggesting that he is seeking that big move to further develop his name in the game, with reports in the media suggesting that the Premier League is his next destination.
The German, 24, has scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists in 36 appearances this season, and there is a feeling that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is interested in trying to take him to Anfield in order to help improve his attack ahead of next season.
But despite the interest from Liverpool, Brassell has claimed that Werner may be more interested in making the move to Chelsea: “Werner I think is going to move,” Brassell told talkSPORT. “Bayern are out of the picture; he’s annoyed they didn’t make that move for him before.
“Of course he’s made such a push for Liverpool in the media opportunities he’s had over recent weeks, but I wonder if Chelsea could be in the mix as well. You could see him walking into that team a lot easier.”
Chelsea are in the same bracket as Manchester United, so Chelsea will have to fight hard to secure any transfer deal for this young man, but considering they are in need of a striker, he could be tempted, especially if they get back into the Champions League spots.
Surely fans would love to see him?
