Late deal: Todd Boehly set to shock Chelsea fans with this one signing this January
It’s fair to say that the jury is still out in regards to Chelsea fans and their opinion on owner Todd Boehly.
His time at the club has coincided with the Blues pulling out some of their worst football in recent memory, and struggling to build any form domestically.
This is despite the fact that Boehly has bankrolled the club for both the present and the future. Chelsea have smashed their transfer record twice on Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo since he joined the club.
It is fair to say though that things have begun to take a positive turn this season since Mauricio Pochettino was appointed as manager.
While the league position may perhaps not explain that, the fact that they recently booked their place in the EFL Cup final would support the claim.
The transfers being made are seeming to be far wiser this season too, with them not actually signing a player as of yet in January.
Duran transfer confusing from Boehly
This is likely because their number one target, Victor Osimhen, is not available this month after signing a new contract with Napoli.
All of this added up is perhaps why Chelsea fans will be left scratching their heads at the latest transfer rumour regarding their side.
It has been claimed that the Blues are interested in a deal to bring in Jhon Duran from Aston Villa in the final week of this transfer window.
The youngster has shown promise in his limited time in the Premier League, however this has only resulted in two league goals.
In fact, he has more yellow cards to his name than goals, something which a team with a discipline issue already could perhaps do without.
With it looking as if Boehly and co were beginning to make better informed decisions recently, signing Duran would certainly be a step bac
kwards in that regard.
