Leicester City to miss their biggest player vs Chelsea on Tuesday due to an injury
Leicester City take on Chelsea in the EPL on Tuesday and forward Jamie Vardy is facing a race against time to be fit for this key encounter.
The 34-year-old has been in top form for Leicester City this season, scoring 11 goals in 17 league matches but he had to be taken off in their previous match with what looked to be a hip injury.
Jamie Vardy has been struggling with a hip injury and it seems like the forward has aggravated that during Leicester City’s 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.
He had to be taken off during the dying minutes of the match and speaking to the press, Brendan Rodgers was not a 100% sure of Vardy would be fit in time to take on Chelsea.
‘We hope so,’ the Foxes boss told Leicestershire Live.
It was obviously sore and restrictive for him, so we thought we would take him off towards the end and give him some sort of breather. It was that impingement he gets on his hip.’
With the win vs Southampton, Leicester have moved up to the 2nd spot on the Premier League table and after the stalemate between Liverpool and Man United, the Foxes will go into the Chelsea game with the opportunity to be number 1, temporarily.
And if a player like Jamie Vardy cannot be available then it will be a big blow for Brendan Rodgers and his plans to tame Chelsea.
Rodgers does have the option to use Iheanacho up front but the manager will be keeping his fingers crossed regarding the update of Jamie Vardy.
