‘Let’s be honest, Chelsea had better chances to beat us’ – Liverpool star admits after Carabao Cup victory

It was a tough three games between Chelsea and Liverpool this season as the both teams was unable to beat each other in normal time this season.

The two league games have been a 1-1 draw and a 2-2 draw respectively.

In the Carabao Cup final, the two teams couldn’t be separated even after 120 minutes.

However, Liverpool carried the day after penalty shootout, and Reds left back Andy Robertson admitted that Chelsea were more dangerous at Wembley.

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson told the club’s official website after the game:“It has been really tight between us and Chelsea all season.”

“The two games in the Premier League have both been draws. Today, we both had chances; I think they probably had the better chances, to be honest with you.

“Quite an open game, but I think by the end everyone was just knackered and I think everyone you could just see both sets of teams were kind of looking at each other thinking, ‘When will this end?’.

“Really tough on the body, a lot of work has been put into this. The longer it goes, somebody has to miss a penalty and it’s horrible really. But, fortunately, it wasn’t one of our lads.”
