Chelsea’s 89 million dollar acquisition Since joining Stamford Bridge, Mykhailo Mudryk has performed poorly and hasn’t even been close to reaching his peak.
But Mudryk has had multiple coaches at Chelsea, and he hasn’t yet settled in at Stamford Bridge.
This season, Mudryk has been under pressure from Chelsea’s new coach, Enzo Maresca, to perform to the best of his abilities and aid the team’s success. But Muderyk had a poor start to the season, and Enzo Maresca was not pleased with his most recent showing.
But with so many new players joining the team, the winger risks dropping to the bottom of the Blues’ attacking hierarchy; perhaps it’s time for a change of scenery.
The new head coach has been seen giving Mudryk animated, in-game, one-on-one coaching in some mactches.
“We are going to try to help him change,” Maresca said after the Servette game, which Mudryk started. “He needs to try to understand that we are going to give him the ball in the last third. And when he’s there, [it’s about] taking the right decision.
“For me, most of the mistakes from Misha are not about the quality or the technical mistake – it’s about the choice. Sometimes he tries to do something different and we lose the ball. Sometimes he has to go one-v-one. It’s about decision-making. Hopefully we can help him improve that. If he can become more consistent, he can take one step forward.”
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has now backed Mudryk to succeed under Enzo Maresca after the manager expresses affection for the international player from Ukraine.
Pep said: “Enzo Maresca can get the best out of you, just need to listen to his Rhythm of Football, you got the pace and can run, a skillful player with a threat”
