Liverpool vs Chelsea: Klopp ‘sends strong’ warning to Lukaku

Liverpool vs Chelsea: Klopp sends strong warning to Lukaku

Liverpool have started the season in the same vein as Chelsea, as Jurgen Klopp’s side has won their opening games, and have scored five goals and conceded none in both games.

The Reds have a different battle on their hands this weekend when they host Chelsea at Anfield, as Romelu Lukaku would try to test their defensive strength.

Klopp has admitted that he’s looking forward to seeing his side battle against Lukaku as he told reporters: “Playing against Lukaku will be interesting.”

The Liverpool boss then talked up his defence with the return of Virgil van Dijk, as he added: “The package of Virgil van Dijk is really helpful. I like talking about Virgil but I don’t like when we talk about last season [that it’s about] ‘Virgil van Dijk didn’t play’.”

Klopp also hinted that the return of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip has made his side stronger.

“Just to mention again, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip didn’t play as well which didn’t make the situation easier and people tend to forget how good they are.

“But of course it’s cool having Virgil back.”
