Madrid managing director to fly to London to negotiate Hazard’s transfer

Spanish media outlet AS reports that representatives of Real Madrid have arrived in London to hold direct negotiations with Chelsea concerning Eden Hazard’s transfer.

Real Madrid managing director Jose Angel Sanchez, who is seen is the second-highest person at the club after Florentino Perez, will personally fly to London this week in order to talk to Marina Granovskaia, who is described by the Spanish source as Roman Abramovich’s ‘iron lady’.

The Spanish giants aim to finalise the talks in time to present Eden Hazard shortly after the international break.

The situation is complicated for them, however, as the Blues will reportedly ask for €120mln, while Los Blancos are not ready to offer more than €100mln.

The Spanish grand will hope that Chelsea lower their demands due to the fact that Hazard’s contract expires in a year.

The player himself has expressed hope that the clubs will come to an agreement, speaking after the Europa League final victory.

“We will decide in a few days,” he told BT Sport after the game.
“I told the club my decision. I told both clubs so I am now waiting, like the fans, to find out. I think it’s a goodbye but, in football, you never know. Maybe it’s time for a new challenge.”
