It has been some turnaround for Jorginho at Chelsea.
Under Maurizio Sarri, the 27-year-old was a scapegoat, and was even booed at times. However, since Frank Lampard’s arrival to replace the former boss, Blues supporters appear to be changing their minds on the regista – some have gone so far as to call for him to be given the captain’s armband.
For Italy, much like he is for Chelsea at the moment, he is one of the first names on the teamsheet, having started 15 of the last 16 games for the Azzurri.
Roberto Mancini’s side were in action against Armenia on Thursday as they continued their quest to qualify for Euro 2020 and Jorginho put in a good performance as he helped his side to a 3-1 victory.
