‘Man hits us alot, he’s a big game player’: Luton manager heap praise on 22-year-old Chelsea star

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards picked out Enzo Fernandez as an extremely talented player after playing against Chelsea last night.

Luton are still pointless since their return to the Premier League this season, albeit they did show some positive signs on their trip to Stamford Bridge on Friday night.

Eventually, Chelsea’s class prevailed and they beat Luton 3-0 to secure a much-needed three league points.

The Blues attack proved too hot to handle last night. Firstly, Raheem Sterling scored two exquisite goals inside the penalty box to highlight his return to form this season. Afterwards, Nicolas Jackson got a deserved first goal in English football.

Speaking via Luton’s X account in his post-match interview, Rob Edwards picked out Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez as a quality player from the opposition.

Edwards said: “These teams ask certain questions of you and those outside centre-backs have got to be really brave the way we go. Burkey (Reece Burke) was going all the way in with Enzo Fernandez, who’s a special player.”

Fernandez, who’s playing as an advanced midfielder recently, is really flexing his muscles in the opening weeks of the season.

Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino appears to be getting the best out of several individuals already, including Fernandez.

The 22-year-old Argentine star was once again a delight to watch against Luton with some of his intricate passes and moments on the ball.

Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports‘ live coverage last night that Fernandez has got to add goals to his game. We think you could be looking at one of the world’s elite midfielders if he just polishes up his final touch.
