Marina player’s transfer decisions made, as Blues receives Harry Kane transfer message
According to reports, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is ready to offload some players in the Chelsea squad following UCL victory.
However, some of the players are, Chelsea’s third choice goalkeeper Willy Caballero will leave the club at the end of his contract in June.
The 39-year-old Argentine has been with the club since signing from Manchester City in 2017, and he ended making 38 appearances and kept 14 clean sheets.
Caballero would be proud to have won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup with Chelsea before his departure.
This season, Caballero found himself as third choice goalkeeper following the signing of Edouard Mendy from Rennes.
Chelsea released a statement to confirm his exit, thus: “Willy Caballero will depart Stamford Bridge after four years with Chelsea when his contract expires at the end of this month.”
Also, Chelsea has confirmed that goalkeeper Jamal Blackman will leave the club at the end of his contract. Blackman’s contract ends in June, and he has been at the club since 12.
Now 27, Blackman will aim to secure his future in another club after several loan deals, and will also be leaving at the end of June.
Blackman did not make a single senior appearance for Chelsea, but was part of the Blues squad which travelled to Munich in 2012 for our maiden Champions League triumph.
Regarding the exit of the two goalkeepers, the club wished them well via a statement: “Everyone at the club thanks Willy and Jamal for their work at Chelsea and wishes them well for the future.”
Blues receives Harry Kane transfer message
On an individual level, Chelsea target Harry Kane has been outstanding, as he has bagged up many personal awards. However, he hasn’t been successful in terms of collective trophies.
The 27-year-old has scored 200+ goals for Spurs and ended the season as the Premier League’s record scorer. He also set a record as he became the first player since Andrew Cole in 1994 to top both the Premier League goals and assists charts.
In an interview with Evening Standard, Kane has bemoaned the lack of success on a club level.
“I’ve had some amazing moments this season, and some very close moments,” Kane said.
“But it’s a shame we just haven’t managed to get over the line as a club.”
Kane has high hopes heading to the European Championship, and he has revealed that it will be a shame for him if he doesn’t get success with the national team.
He further stated: “I think if I finish my career as a footballer without winning a major trophy for England, I would see that as a failure. I know we are still progressing, still got room to improve, but that is the goal and I think we can do that.”
