Thibaut Courtois has gone AWOL in an attempt to force a move away from Chelsea, according to the Telegraph‘s Matt Law.
Courtois is believed to be keen on signing for Real Madrid between now and the end of the transfer window. After their failure to land Manchester United number one David De Gea, the Belgian has emerged as Los Blancos’ top target to replace Keylor Navas.
His family still reside in Madrid, and Courtois has shown no willingness to extend his Chelsea contract, with has just one-year left to run. He’s backed us into a corner – and continues to do so.
Matt Law claims that Courtois was not present at Wembley to watch Chelsea take on Manchester City, nor was he present for first-team training today, with Maurizio Sarri hoping to speak to him regarding his future.
The three players Chelsea are targeting to replace him, per Matt Law, are Jack Butland and Sergio Rico. Which would you prefer to see between the sticks at Stamford Bridge this season, Blues?
