Mauricio Pochettino could start 19-year-old Chelsea youngster against Arsenal after latest injury update

Mauricio Pochettino will have been praying his Chelsea players will have got through the international break without adding any more injuries to their collection.

The Argentinian has already seen more players sidelined than any other manager this season, and that has made things very difficult for someone trying to turn things around at a club who were very much down on their luck.

However, it would have been crucial to keep his key players fit for the upcoming Premier League match on Saturday evening.

The Blues are preparing to welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge at the weekend, in what will be their biggest test of the season so far.

Off the back of two consecutive league wins, there may have been some optimism over a turn of form.

Chukwuemeka should start vs Arsenal

However, news that Cole Palmer had returned to Stamford Bridge already after an injury on international duty.

If he is not fit for Saturday, Pochettino will have to look elsewhere in an attempt to find some creativity.

However, he may be about to be given a huge boost with the return of Carney Chukwuemeka.

The 19-year-old was a starter for the first two games of the season, impressing as he found the net for the first time against West Ham.

Minutes later though, he fell to injury that he is so far yet to return from. However, he has been back in training since before the international break.

If Palmer is unable to start against the Gunners, the manager should look no further than Chukwuemeka to try and bring balance back to his Chelsea side.
