Mauricio Pochettino now set to sell up to 15 Chelsea players this summer – journalist

According to Journalist Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is set to sell plenty more Chelsea players this summer.

He told GiveMeSport that the Argentine could allow up to 15 first team players to leave in total during this window.

Pochettino has already overseen a number of players who have previously been important to the Blues leave in the early weeks of the off-season.

In recent days, both Mateo Kovacic and Kalidou Koulibaly’s exits have been officially announced by the club, with players flocking to social media to react to both.

It looks as if this is not set to be the end of outgoings from West London this summer. Sheth has claimed that the total could reach as many as 15 before August comes to an end.

Pochettino may sell 15 players

He said: “I think there’s almost a guarantee there will be more exits. I think that was the big issue Pochettino faced when he took on the job as Chelsea’s head coach.

“He wants to reinforce this squad. Christopher Nkunku has come in, and Nicolas Jackson is on his way. But there’s such a bloated squad at Chelsea just now that it could be a case of 10 to 15 players leaving.”

Fabrizio Romano has already listed five candidates for first team players to keep an eye on that could be out the door next.

The club are looking to sort any player sales as soon as possible in an attempt to balance the books before going on a transfer spree of their own.

Despite the signings they have already made or are about to make, a lot of work has to be done to a squad that could only muster up a 12th place finish in the league last time out.
