Mauricio Pochettino reveals what his wife usually did to him at home after nightmare Chelsea start

Mauricio Pochettino is remaining calm following Chelsea’s horror start in the Premier League but perhaps the same can’t be said for his wife.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino admits he needs to calm his wife, not himself, following his poor start in charge at Stamford Bridge. The Argentine insists he would have acted differently 10 years ago but is now more mature and able to deal with difficult spells.

Chelsea have had a nightmare first six matches in the Premier League this term. They have won just won game, beating newly-promoted Luton 1-0, and sit 14th in the table.

There have been three defeats, including a 1-0 loss at home to Aston Villa last time out. There has been some relief in the Carabao Cup, with victories over AFC Wimbledon and Brighton leading the Blues into the fourth round.

But scoring goals has remained a major issue, with just five so far in the top flight. However, Pochettino insists he is staying relaxed, claiming wife Karina is the one who he needs to calm down.

Pochettino said while laughing: “You need to ask me how is my wife, not ask my wife how I am. I need to calm my wife.”

Pochettino insists Karina did not see a different man once he returned home following the cup win over Brighton in midweek. “Why? Because we won?”, he asked.
