Maurizio Sarri Insists Chelsea Star Is Going Nowhere

Maurizio Sarri has ruled out Eden Hazard leaving Chelsea this summer. This is the official confirmation we’ve been waiting for.

Though the Premier League transfer window came to a close on 5pm on Thursday, foreign clubs are still active in the transfer market.

That means that, in theory, Hazard could still join Real Madrid and Chelsea would be left without a replacement for their star man.

The club will not let this happen, whatever the price. Sarri has now confirmed it while speaking ahead of his Premier League managerial debut.

ESPN quote our manager, who says:

“Hazard is with us. I have spoken with him three, four times for everything & he never said something about the market. He’s very happy to stay here.”

“I think it’s impossible because here the market is closed, so we can’t change such important players now.”

Now the window is closed, Chelsea ought to get to work convincing Hazard to sign a new contract. Let’s focus all our resources in getting him to commit his future.

Interest from Real Madrid is never going to go away, and he has just two-years left to run on his contract. We need to learn from the mistake we made with Thibaut Courtois.
