Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has insisted that Eden Hazard is going nowhere. He’s also suggested that a change of position could be on the horizon for the Belgian.
The understanding between Sarri and Hazard has seen them both reap the rewards early on in the Italian’s tenure. Hazard leads the goal-scoring charts in the Premier League, while Sarri is engineering a title pursuit during his debut campaign in England.
Sarri is the manager that Hazard has been waiting for to take his game to the next level. Sarri was also not blessed with a player as good as Hazard previously in his managerial career. These are fruitful times for the pair of them.
The issue remains that Hazard could depart, with interest from Real Madrid threatening the equilibrium at Stamford Bridge. Sarri isn’t concerned, though. He insists that Hazard is not leaving anytime soon, as Corriere Dello Sport report:
“His contract expires in 2020, but he’s staying here.”
Interestingly, Sarri also added that he could convert Hazard into a striker later down the line. What would you make of that, Blues? Is that the change that would take him to an even higher level, or would it be unnecessary?
“I was tempted to use Hazard as a centre-forward and I might consider it again in future, but it’s not the right time now. We need to believe in Giroud and Morata”
