‘Medical to be held on Monday’: As Blues set to announce £859k deal
Olivier Giroud’s transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan is set to be a done deal as both clubs have finally reached agreement over a move.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have agreed personal terms with Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
The 34-year-old was set to leave Chelsea for free at the end of the season, but the Blues triggered a one-year extension in his contract, much to the annoyance of AC Milan.
Reports in Italy claim that Giroud is set to undergo a medical with AC Milan on Monday, and will also sign a two-year deal with the Rossoneri after they finally reached an agreement with the Blues regarding a transfer fee.
According to reports from Italy, Chelsea have accepted €1m (£859k) plus another €1m (£859k) in performance-related bonuses, meaning the overall deal could reach £1.7m.
AC Milan had hoped to sign Giroud on a free transfer, but trust Marina Granovskaia to always make a profit even if it’s £1m.
