Moussa Dembele makes final Chelsea transfer decision

The blues boss Frank Lampard has made Lyon striker Moussa Dembele one of his top January transfer targets.

Chelsea have already had a £34 million rejected by Lyon and are planning to submit a second bid for the Frenchman.

According to Daily Telegraph, Dembele wants to return to England but he doesn’t expect to leave Lyon until the summer.

This will come as a blow to Lampard who wants to provide Tammy Abraham with further competition. Both Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud have struggled to challenge the England international, with both linked with moves away this month.

ESPN’s French football correspondent Jonathan Johnson also believes Dembele will not expect to move this month.

“I think Dembele would be open to a move to the Premier League, if not now then at the end of the season,” Johnson said on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast.

“I also think he like everybody else at Lyon will be disappointed with the way things have gone at this moment in time. “They’re particularly devastated to have lost Memphis Depay and Jeff Reine-Adelaide, two of their better attacking talents to season-ending injuries.
