Multiples offers submitted! Chelsea could have new owners before this home game as Raine Group set to make decision

According to reports, The United Kingdom Government will not play an active role in selecting Chelsea’s next owner.

However, this comes after owner Roman Abramovich was placed on the Government sanction list after putting Chelsea up for sale.

This meant that the sale was thrown into doubt but the Government gave Raine Group the green light to continue the process.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been banned from selling any more tickets for their games this season after club owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government for his alleged involvement in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

However, the future doesn’t seem as bleak. As per the reliable Nizaar Kinsella, the UK government is working to ensure that the club ‘don’t have any problems with tickets after the international break’.

It’s unclear if this means whether away fans will be allowed or if more fans will be welcomed back at Stamford Bridge, but we can assume that the government will ease ticket restrictions for fans to get back to games.

Kinsella also adds that ‘there’s a possibility’ for Chelsea to have new owners by the Brentford home game, which is scheduled for April 2.

As to who the new owner will be is still up in the air. UK property tycoon Nick Candy has confirmed he is trying to buy the club.

However, he’s not the only one – the US-Swiss consortium of Todd Boehly and Hansjorg Wyss already lodging a bid, while a Saudi Media-led consortium are also making a move.

The Ricketts family, who own the Chicago Cubs, and New York Jets owner Woody Johnson are also interested parties with a Ghanian billionaire interested too.
