My career is panned out – Chelsea player regretting his career at Chelsea after Tuchel release him

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater has given a brutally honest verdict on his Chelsea career.

After helping Leicester City win the Premier League in the 2015/16 season, Drinkwater joined Chelsea in 2017 for £35million but failed to live up to the billing with Chelsea.

“Can I paint a picture? No. It’s been a shambles,” Danny Drinkwater told talkSPORT of his time with Chelsea, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“I’m more excited about this [loan move to Reading] than I have been for a few years now, especially how my career’s panned out.

“Games, getting the enjoyment of football back, then going from there. A few have slid away, I’ve made mistakes, I’ve not played.

“I’m desperate for games, I know my position and I know it’s not what I’ve expected for 10 years.

“So I’ve got to make changes and I’m making the right steps.”
