New striker on his way this month! As Frank Lampard message gets Chelsea fans excited about possible striker deal

Frank Lampard has dropped a massive hint that he is looking to sign a new striker for Chelsea this transfer window.

The Blues have one of the most exciting young sides in the English game right now as Lampard was forced to give his talented squad a chance this season after being unable to sign any players during the summer window.

But with his young side failing to find the net on a regular basis, and the fact that they simply cannot rely on the goals of Tammy Abraham every week, there has been a lot of transfer speculation in the media about what striker could be signed by the club, with Lyon ace Moussa Dembele and German star Timo Werner high up on the shopping list.

And amid all the speculation moves have been made for the pair, and Following the Chelsea defeat to Newcastle at the weekend, Lampard has now come out and dropped a hint that he is keen to add a striker to the side. “We know we have problems at the top of the pitch in terms of we don’t get enough goals,” Lampard said on the Sun

“If you don’t score you are always liable for a sucker punch and they got it. If we are looking for people to bring in to the areas to win games when you are controlling it, it is scoring goals.

“We can’t work anymore in training on finishing. You need to have that killer instinct in front of goal. “We need to score more goals from front-line areas if we are going to get to where we want to be. “It’s quite clear from what I am saying now that we know where we need to strengthen but we shall see.”

Look, there is a clear lack of depth to the Chelsea side that Lampard needs to sort out and if there is a chance to spend some serious money and add a striker to the squad, he should get something done straight away. Chelsea have already lost out on Dembele, so they need to move quickly and wrap up a deal for Werner, as he would be a fantastic signing for the club.
