Next Drogba to Chelsea as Board told to wrap up £70 million deal

Chelsea told to sign the “next Didier Drogba” in Brentford star Ivan Toney in the coming transfer windows.

Toney is currently in the middle of a ban that keeps him out of football until January, but that has not stopped speculation that he is a player that CHELSEA are very much interested in signing.

The Blues have spent some serious money over the last couple of transfer windows, but are lacking a striker that has the ability to score 20 goals a season, and Toney is reportedly the man that Mauricio Pochettino would like the board to sign in just a few months time.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side added Nicolas Jackson in the summer but Frank McAvennie insisted the club are still missing someone like Toney.

“I still think they could do with Toney. I think if they get him they will be a force to be reckoned with again.

“They have got a decent squad but no disrespect to Jackson as I think he will be a great player but he is all over the place, he is a bit like Bambi.

“He will be a wonderful asset to Chelsea but if they get Toney it is like getting Drogba, he does not mind mixing it up, he does not mind the long runs and I think that is what Chelsea need.“
