‘Not now’- Another Chelsea player to miss international games through injury, after Mendy miss out
Italy boss Roberto Mancini has explained why Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, was missing from his team for the upcoming international games.
Although Jorginho is a key player for his country, Mancini has revealed that he suffered a knock on his knee in training, and he doesn’t want to risk him.
“As regards to the midfielders, we are really in a bit of difficulty in the centre,” Roberto Mancini said in his press conference on Monday.
“We’re missing Jorginho, who wasn’t well.
“He’d taken a knock to the knee and he wasn’t fit to play in these games so we didn’t risk him.”
Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will also miss out from the international games, as the Senegal international has been scheduled for operation on his tooth.
