Chelsea have officially confirmed David Luiz’s departure to Arsenal on a two-year deal. The Gunners have paid £8m for the 32-year-old, according to Sky Sports.
The Brazi international went on strike at Chelsea on Wednesday to force his move to the Emirates Stadium.
It’s believed he’s fallen out with Frank Lampard over his first-team role in the upcoming season. The Blues manager allegedly prefers the Zouma-Christensen centre-back pairing.
Luiz signed for the Blues from Benfica in a £22.5m move in January 2011. His six-and-a-half-season spell at the Bridge was interrupted by a £44.5m move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2014.
After two years at Parc des Princes, the Brazilian returned to the Bridge for £31.5m.
He’ll wear the number 23 shirt at the Gunners.
Luiz’s record for Chelsea:
Appearances – 248
Goals – 18
Assists – 12
