Official: Three players sign new contracts with Chelsea ahead of start of 2021-2022 season
The transfer window is on and Chelsea are yet to make new signings.
However, The Blues are already renewing player’s contract, loaning and selling players on a permanent deal.
Meanwhile, The Blues have announced through their official website that three promising players have extended their contracts with the club.
Apart from the ten teenagers who signed scholarships with the Blues, Joe Haigh, Teddy Sharman-Lowe and Jimi Tauriainen were at Cobham this week to sign new professional deals.
While Haigh is now committed to Chelsea until 2023, Sharman-Lowe and Tauriainen were awarded contracts until at least 2024.
An attacking midfielder by trade, Haigh joined Chelsea at U10 level and has appeared for their youth teams in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup.
Sharman-Lowe is a goalkeeper who joined The Blues from Burton Albion in September 2020.
An England U19 international, he played three games for Burton Albion’s first team prior to switching to Stamford Bridge.
Aged 17, left-footed attacking player Tauriainen joined Chelsea from Finnish club Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi in the summer of 2020.
The Finland youth international scored three goals in thirteen U18 games in his first season in England.
