Pep threatens Chelsea ahead of UCL final, Blues making move to land €75m Juventus player, as fans rate Gilmour’s performance against Man City

Man City suffered an embarrassing defeat during their recent game against Chelsea in the Premier League. However, the game which was hosted at Etihad Stadium saw the Citizens lose to the Blues in a game that ended 2-1.

This will make it another time Man City have lost to Chelsea. The Citizens were dumped from the FA Cup this season by Chelsea.

And it could be another defeat awaiting them in the UCL final which will hold on the 29th of this month.

Despite the recent loss to Chelsea, Guardiola has threatened the Blues ahead of the UCL final as he said it would be a different ball entirely.

He told Chelsea not to be too confident as his side will be well prepared ahead.

Guardiola stressed that playing in the UCL final is a dream come true for Man City as they have not be there before unlike Chelsea, who have been there many times.

“We are going to try to approach it in the best possible way,” Guardiola said.

He said that for now Man City focus on their match vs. Newcastle to try to win the Premier League. If not then they would go to Brighton and then play Everton.

“After that we will prepare for the Champions League,” he added.

Chelsea already preparing for next season after making move for Juventus player

Chelsea have already began preparations for next season after making a move for Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt last week.

This is according to Italian media outlet Tuttosport, which also claimed Spanish side Barcelona also made a move for the former Ajax captain.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a regular for Juventus since joining from Ajax two years ago for £67.8million.

Chelsea are said to be the first team to make contact with Juventus to try and sign De Ligt.

Juventus reportedly rebuffed attempts from Chelsea and Barcelona to prise De Ligt away from the Allianz Stadium this summer.

Despite planning for a major summer clearout after losing the Serie A to Inter Milan, Juventus deem De Ligt as unsellable.

The Italian side reportedly see De Ligt as a future captain and won’t consider selling the 21 year old defender.

The former Ajax man has a contract at Juventus until 2024, and he has scored five goals in 70 appearances for the Old Lady so far.

Blues fans rate Gilmour’s performance against Man City

Chelsea fans were impressed with the performance of Billy Gilmour in the 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Saturday. The teenager looked a little rusty in the first half but had a much better second half.

Gilmour completed 93% of his passes against Manchester City, created 2 chances and completed 2 of the 3 long balls he attempted.

sektsioon via Reddit: “If he could master Jorginho’s positioning and game reading, we are golden. Long-term Jorginho replacement in the bag. His movement to get open and make himself available isn’t as good yet either, but that’s expected as he’s so inexperienced still. The potential is off the roof, though.”

Ivehearditboth_ways via Reddit: “Kids a natural. Great decision making and his one-touch passing looked so fluid today. Can’t wait to see how he develops.”

Hitlersdreamboy via Reddit: “Didn’t look out of place at all. Reminiscent of Liverpool last year, stepping up for the big stage. Very happy Tuchel gave him the chance to prove why he should stay. Would love to see him continue to get minutes with the first team next season rather than go on loan.”

eternalblue227 via Reddit: “Big second half from Billy G. Finally up to speed with the pace of the game given he hasn’t had many minutes. Showed his quality and mentality IMO. Didn’t fade after conceding a penalty. Love this guy. Think he needs to go on loan next season to play regularly and come back a year later to fight for a regular spot in the squad.”
