Player agrees personal terms with chelsea ahead of £35m move

Chelsea have reportedly agreed terms with Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani over a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

Anyone who tuned into a Chelsea game last term will have seen the dire need for defensive reinforcements. Our back-line should be the backbone of the team, but they provided little stability and continually cost their teammates.

With Maurizio Sarri set to take charge, our defence will be turned upside down. We will likely no longer play with a back-three. It is unclear whether Cesar Azpilicueta can operate as an archetypal centre-back, or if Gary Cahill can still perform when he doesn’t have such a little space to cover.

Sarri appears to be wary that he could be left short, and has sprung into action. According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani has agreed personal terms ahead of a £35M move to Stamford Bridge.

Rugani worked alongside Sarri at Empoli. He’s a player that our new manager knows well and it looks as though they’re set to reunite in West London this summer.
