Chelsea’s unbeaten run of 17 games came to an end at the Goodison Park with a 1-0 defeat to the Toffees away from home.
See the player ratings below
Mendy: One moment of madness cost his team with a needless penalty conceded. He did well after the incident, but would get a poor rating for costing his team. 4/10
Reece James: Definitely one of the best players on pitch. Hit the post once and tested Pickford with a fine strike. Good game from the right-back who was unlucky to be on the losing side. 7/10
Zouma: Made no mistakes at the back and had one fine opportunity to score for Chelsea but hit his shot straight at Pickford. 6/10
Silva: Unlucky that Chelsea lost a chance to keep another clean sheet through a penalty, but he was generally in good shape. Didn’t seem in control against Calvert-Lewin leading up to the penalty. 5/10
Chilwell: Didn’t seem at his best going forward. His crosses were below par at times. 5/10
Kante: Brilliant game for the Frenchman. He was good on the ball, made some good runs and won back a lot of balls for his team. Brilliant job in the middle of the park. 7/10
Kovacic: Decent game in midfield, but nothing special. 6/10
Mount: Hit the post from a free-kick and worked really hard for his team. 6/10
Kai Havertz: Sloppy on the ball at times and still looks far from being at his best. 4/10
Werner: Seemed to try his best, but it didn’t really work out for him. 6/10
Giroud: Anonymous display. Spurned a good chance in the second half and saw little of the ball in the first half. 5/10
Subs: Tammy Abraham: Joined the game in the second half but nothing much happened for him. 5/10
Gilmour: Late sub for Kovacic.
