Player ratings: Fulham 0 vs 1 Chelsea- as Mason Mount saves Lampard’s job

A late Mason Mount goal gave Chelsea a deserved victory at Craven Cottage as the Blues returned to winning ways.

Below are the player ratings for this game

Mendy: Good job in goal as he was largely untested for most of the game. Survived a massive scare after a misunderstanding with Azpilicueta. 6/10

Azpilicueta: It was through him that Antonee Robinson got red carded for Fulham. Had the space to roam down the right flank, but his final ball wasn’t good enough. Missed a good chance late in the game. 6/10

Rudiger: Solid job at the back. Did well to handle Cavaleiro for most part of the game. Could have scored from a corner in the first half, but his header was saved by the goalkeeper. 7/10

Thiago Silva: Calm and assured in defence. His passing was good, and he just made everything look easy. Very experienced game despite his lack of pace. 7/10

Chilwell: Got forward really well and spent much of his time in the home side’s half. He played a crucial part in Chelsea’s goal as his cross was punched out by the goalkeeper Areola. 7/10

Jorginho: Got the start in the absence of the suspended N’Golo Kante. Didn’t seem needed as Chelsea went all out for a goal in the second half. 5/10

Kovacic: The first half performance was drab beside Jorginho, but he got better in the second half and always seemed to make things happen. 6/10

Mount: Rattled the crossbar in the first half, and got the crucial goal in the second half. Beside the goal, his effort was top class. His runs, take ons and resilience was just too good. 8/10

Ziyech: Had some glimpses that showed his quality and one fine interchange with Oliver Giroud in the first half. Did okay before he was subbed off in the second half for Hudson-Odoi. 6/10

Pulisic: Seemed quiet in the first half but was dangerous whenever he got the ball in the second half. Took more responsibility in the second period and tried to make things happen for his team. 6/10

Giroud: Had a quiet evening at Craven Cottage as he was well handled by three Fulham centre-backs. 5/10

Subs: Tammy Abraham: Came on as the first sub for Jorginho, and made his impact felt. Chelsea changed shape to a 4-4-2 and he did good enough. Tested the keeper with a fine header and pressed from high whenever Fulham had the ball. 6/10

Hudson-Odoi: Came on for Ziyech and had a good impact on the game. Added fresh impetus to Chelsea’s attack and was involved in Mason Mount’s goal. 7/10

Werner: Looked really lively but would be disappointed with his big miss when placed one on one with the goalkeeper. 5/10
