Chelsea scored four goals, and they were all scored by one man, Olivier Giroud.
BELOW are the player ratings for this game
Mendy: Comfortable in goal and was barely tested. Did his job when called upon. 7/10
Azpilicueta: Very solid in right-back, and supported one attacking move from deep. He had a good game. 8/10
Rudiger: Good game at the back, as the German international helped keep a clean sheet yet again. 8/10
Christensen: Good enough performance as Chelsea’s defence shut out Sevilla with ease. A bit rusty though. 7/10
Emerson: Five star performance in left-back, as he proved to be a worthy option for Ben Chilwell. Was good on the ball, worked very hard and went forward to support the attack. 8/10
Jorginho: Good on the ball, controlled the midfield and dictated play from the middle of the park. 8/10
Kovacic: Exhibited his trademark runs through the middle and was quality all through. Worked hard and was confident on the ball. 8/10
Kai Havertz: Good pass leading to Giroud’s opening goal. Good game in the first half but seemed to disappear afterwards. 7/10
Pulisic: Still a work in progress after his return from hamstring injury. Was lively whenever he touched the ball, but his final effort seemed poor. 6/10
Hudson-Odoi: Good game from the young winger. He worked hard and was very direct and lively. 7/10
Giroud: Surely the best player on the pitch and if possible, he deserves more than a 10/10 rating. Scored four goals and each was a classy goal. Left foot, right foot, header and penalty – perfect performance for the France star. 10/10
Subs: Kante: Subbed off Kovacic on the 67th minute, and he brought fresh energy to the midfield. Good cross for Giroud’s third goal. 7/10
Mount: Was brilliant after coming on. Missed one good chance. 6/10
Ziyech: 67th minute sub for Havertz, and he did okay. 6/10
Werner: 85th minute sub for Giroud.
Gilmour: 85th minute sub for Jorginho.
