Player set to leave club after Tuchel told him he’s not in his plans
According to latest reports reaching us this afternoon, Chelsea have told one player he can leave this window due to the fact that he is not part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
However, according to The Telegraph, despite a bit of a midfield injury crisis right now, Billy Gilmour has been told he can leave on a permanent deal because he is not part of Tuchel’s plans.
Brighton are now closing in on signing Gilmour before the window is up.
This I find totally baffling by the way. Gilmour is one of only four (five if you count Ampadu) midfielders that Tuchel has in his squad who are comfortable playing in the six role, or the double pivot.
And now with N’Golo Kante injured and Mateo Kovacic becoming more injury prone, he wants to sell a very talented player who can actually cover that position comfortably…. rather than using Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek there, who are both more natural 8s…. Right.
