Player wants £300,000-a-week contract to complete Chelsea move after Blues make moves to get deal done

Reports have claimed that Chelsea will have to hand Erling Haaland a big contract in order to complete a transfer deal.

Chelsea have just got back inside that top four and won the Champions League title, But Tuchel knows that he needs to keep adding to the squad over the course of the window as Manchester City will be stronger next season.

That has led to a whole load of rumours that Tuchel wants to add another striker and midfielder to the squad, with a number of world class players linked, with the latest reports claiming that Chelsea have opened talks with Erling Haaland about a new deal

Holding midfielder Jorginho ended 2020/21 as their top scorer in the Premier League with seven penalties and Thomas Tuchel wants to recruit a true goal-getter for a title push next season.

But even if they did land Haaland, his arrival would present other problems at Stamford Bridge. That’s because The Guardian says Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola would demand wages of £300,000 per week for the striker.

That is way short of the world’s top earners, like Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo, but would still shatter Chelsea’s current wage structure.
