Pochettino confirms imminent signing, as Chelsea open talks for £60M striker deal

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

Stuttgart’s sporting director says the club want to keep Chelsea target Serhou Guirassy this month – but did not rule out selling the forward if the right offer comes in

He already has 19 goals to his name in all competitions and has proved many people wrong that he is able to cut it in the Bundesliga at the highest level.

Couple that with his astonishingly low £15.1m release clause and it seems certain that offers from the likes of CHELSEA will arrive in the January window and take him to that next level in the game.

West Ham and Manchester United have also been linked with the forward and now it has been revealed that the German side will allow him to depart the club should the right offer arrive this month.

Our strategy is not to hope, fear and keep our fingers crossed,” Stuttgart chief Fabian Wohlgemuth told BW24.

“It’s not wishful thinking .We are constantly in contact, and if matters align that are favorable, then we will do it. If not, then not.

“We will keep our eyes and ears open. We’re not under any pressure, but the squad situation is a bit tense at the moment.

Speaking earlier in the season, Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness did not rule out the prospect of losing Guirassy in the January window.‘In football you can never exclude anything, so I won’t do that here either.

‘I think he feels really comfortable. Of course, I hope he stays with us for a long time, just has a good time with us. But with him and with the others, it is never possible to exclude things.’

And according to reporter Iomie Stanley – he could be a brilliant addition to that attack – he told icfootballnews: ‘Chelsea are in dire need of a striker – they need to splash the cash.

There has been so many links to big names – but spending £15 million on this man could be a January bargain – he really is proving himself over in the Bundesliga.

‘He could be a great short term solution to the clubs biggest problem.’

FOFANA DEAL IS CLOSE –

Chelsea forward David Datro Fofana is on his way to the UK with his representative ahead of finalising a straight loan move to Burnley.

CHELSEA recalled Fofana from his loan at Bundesliga club Union Berlin earlier this week after he failed to make any real impression at the Bundesliga side and although Sevilla also made a formal offer, The Blues wanted him to stay in the Premier League.

And that allowed Burnley to make contact with Chelsea and make an offer that Chelsea have been impressed with and the fact that Chelsea felt staying in the Premier League was better for the 21-year-old’s development, a deal has been struck.

And ahead of an official announcement – Pochettino has been speaking on Fofana’s loan move to Burnley:“The club is dealing with this situation and we will announce when things happen.

“I cannot say [if it is Burnley] at the moment, it’s rumours.”

Fofana is a very good young striker that did not need to make the move to Chelsea – he is just being loaned out all over the place. But Burnley have got themselves a man that can score goals.

He may not be really to lead that CHELSEA attack just yet – but Sevilla wanted him and so did a few other clubs – so this is a very good bit of business for the Premier League strugglers.

If Fofana is determined to make his mark on the Premier League – he could keep Vincent Kompany in a job – as we said – he is a very good goal-scorer – and that is what Burnley need.

CHELSEA HOLD VLAHOVIC TALKS –

Chelsea have reportedly held internal talks over a possible transfer deal for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.

Chelsea have reportedly held internal talks over a possible transfer deal for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.

Now that the transfer window is open – Mauricio Pochettino has the chance to delve into that transfer kitty once more and try to sign a striker that will bang in goals on a weekly basis.

There is a feeling that CHELSEA are missing that 25-goal a season forward to get back in the hunt for that Premier League title and playing Champions League football on a yearly basis.

That has led to constant rumours in the media linking the Blues with a move for Vlahovic – who only moved to Juventus two summers ago – but has constantly been linked with a move away as he struggled to score the goals they wanted him too.

Journalist Simon Phillips provided an update on Chelsea and a new striker in the last 48 hours, saying on his Substack, relayed by The Chelsea Chronicle, that the club have held Stamford Bridge talks by discussing internally the possibility of a move for Vlahovic.

The Blues have been watching Vlahovic during the current campaign and still appears to be on their radar ahead of a potential transfer.

Vlahovic, still only 23 years of age, already has plenty of senior experience under his belt for club and country and is currently valued at €60m by Transfermarkt.

However – despite all the speculation in the media linking him with a move to the Premier League, the Serbian doesn’t seem to want to move on from Juve anytime soon and he has even hinted at signing a new deal at the club.

He told Gazzetta: “I’m very happy to be at Juventus.

“I still have two and a half years left on my contract here at Juve.

“We’re in no rush but director Giuntoli and my agent are already talking”.

Vlahovic is a very good forward that would score goals in that Blues side – but there are many CHELSEA fans out there that would prefer the board make a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney – he is seemingly the forward that fans believe could help bring titles and Champions League football back to the club
