Pochettino reveals what happened to Sanchez after double mistakes against Arsenal

Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino has admitted his side needs to learn to read matches better, after watching them squander a two-goal advantage against Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The Blues led 2-0 until the 77th minute when Robert Sanchez’s misplaced pass found its way to Declan Rice, who fired from distance, and gave Arsenal a lifeline back into the match.

Leandro Trossard came on late in the second half to make it 2-2 for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Speaking during his post-match reaction, Pochettino bemoaned Sanchez’s poor judgement to give away the ball, although he refused to blame the Spanish goalkeeper.

“We are so happy with him,” said the boss. “Of course he is disappointed and upset with his decision but mistakes happen in football.

“This goal gave the belief to Arsenal. We can maybe read better the situation, the tempo, the timing. We can take risks on 77 minutes because it’s our philosophy, but maybe there is another decision you can take.

“It’s not to blame someone. It can happen. It will arrive with time, when to be calm and when to take risks, and we are still a really young team getting to know each other.”
