Pochettino tells Chelsea board he wants La Liga star signed

Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino has told CHELSEA to explore a deal for Girona striker Artem Dovbyk

Despite all the money that has been spent – all the quality that has been acquired and a world class manager in charge – the club are down in 10th position in the Premier League and look like a side that is lacking top-class players in certain areas.

That has led to constant speculation in the media that we will look to make a move for a striker this transfer window, and have been linked with some of the games biggest forwards over the past few months.

However – it seems that Pochettino has his eyes set on a player that fans would be less excited about, as Dovbyk is now a player that the former Tottenham boss would like to see.

The Ukrainian has scored 11 goals and added four assists to help send his club to the top of the league for the LaLiga winter break.

The Sun report that Pochettino has sent scouts to watch the 26-year-old is recent weeks and has been impressed by the striker’s strength and physicality.

Dovbyk, who has the same agent as Mykhailo Mudryk, is expected to cost around £40million.
