Pochettino to hand 20-year-old a start against Everton after a massive return

A win is essential for Chelsea on Monday night as they take on relegation-threatened Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Victory would keep the Blues in the hunt for a European place at the end of the season.

Any other result though would be another big blow for Mauricio Pochettino in his hopes to remain as Chelsea manager for the foreseeable future.

Chelsea predicted XI
Djordje Petrovic hardly covered himself in glory last time out, although he will keep his place in the side on Monday.

Malo Gusto has enjoyed a nice week of training after missing the last game through illness, and will return to the starting side.

Next to him, the seemingly ever-present Axel Disasi looks as if he may be injured, and therefore the out-of-form Benoit Badiashile will be looking to respond.

He will be joined by Thiago Silva, who found himself amongst the goals last time out against Sheffield United.

On the left, Marc Cucurella will continue despite Ben Chilwell approaching a return.

Midfield

Enzo Fernandez is reportedly a doubt due to fitness, and therefore the position will be played this week by Conor Gallagher.

He will again be partnered by Moises Caicedo, who similarly has not shown his best on a consistent basis this season.

Ahead of those two, youngster Carney Chukwuemeka will be given a rare chance to impress from the start for Chelsea.

Attack
Fresh off a fine goal last time out, Noni Madueke will again be handed a start as part of the attack.

He will of course be joined by Cole Palmer in attack, who has easily been the best player of the season at Stamford Bridge.

Joining them will be Nicolas Jackson, who remains a single yellow card away from a ban that would see him miss two games.
