Wolves striker Raul Jimenez would be a “great fit” for Chelsea, according to Craig Burley.
After recently becoming the club’s top scorer in Premier League history – netting his 23rd league goal to overtake Steven Fletcher’s 22, interest in a Premier League deal has taken another leap forward, with United hot on the list of possible suitors
Jimenez, 28, has 10 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season for Champions League hopefuls Wolves, and we believe that he could be a good buy for the likes of Chelsea, especially after Frank Lampard failed to sign any strikers during the January transfer window.
He is a very good player who has had a great season, and from what we are hearing, there will be a lot of top clubs trying to sign him in the summer, but despite all the interest, he could do a job at Chelsea, he could be a great partner for Tammy Abraham.
The Mexico international, 28, has also been linked with Manchester United in recent months having continued to impress before the season was suspended, but Burley has opened up and claimed that he could be the perfect fit for Chelsea, “I think he would be a great fit at both clubs,” Burley told ESPN when asked about Jimenez.
“Chelsea are in need of a striker. Tammy Abraham has done well, but whether he can continue to do that remains to be seen. Olivier Giroud will be short-term at Chelsea, so they are in the market. I think United will target a higher market, bigger name player.”
If Chelsea do actually come calling, it will be interesting to see if he actually turns down a move to one of the biggest clubs in the game, and considering he does not cost that much money, he would be seen as a real transfer bargain by many.
