Raheem Sterling makes a video call with striker to join Chelsea

Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has reached out to Nigerian youngster Hafiz Ibrahim, urging the striker to accept a two-week trial at Chelsea.

Ibrahim, who plays for Nigerian club Ojodu City, has been called up by the Blues over the next two weeks in order to earn a contract and make a move to Stamford Bridge.

The 18-year-old talent recently scored 10 goals in six games at the Viareggio Cup to finish as the tournament’s top scorer.

He will be on trial at Chelsea for the next two weeks, as he seeks to realise his dream of becoming a professional footballer.

According to The Express, Raheem Sterling was involved in convincing Ibrahim to accept the trial, with the England ace speaking directly to him on a video call.

Ibrahim was recently targeted by Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt, but the deal fell through, as the club failed to agree terms despite entering talks last month.

If Ibrahim signs for Chelsea, he would go out on loan to French club Strasbourg for a considerable period.
