“Raining goals will come soon when he’s back for Chelsea” – Frank Leboeuf believes 25-year-old Chelsea star will solve Chelsea problems

Frank Leboeuf thinks Christopher Nkunku can help solve Chelsea’s huge problem in front of goal.

It’s pretty obvious that this Blues side has a real issue scoring goals, something which has been true at Stamford Bridge for a couple of years now.

Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino has coached some decent performances from his side in the opening two months of the campaign, but a lack of end product is killing this team right now.

They sit 15th in the Premier League table after Saturday’s results, so Monday night’s game away to Fulham feels like a contest they need to win by any means possible.

ESPN pundit Leboeuf holds faith that Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku, 25, can mark a real turning point in the club’s season.

The Frenchman’s not played a competitive game for the club because of an injury in pre-season, but there’s a lot of excitement about what the former RB Leipzig star can bring to Stamford Bridge.

“I’ve got question marks about the fact that Chelsea is going to struggle to score goals again this season. I’m thinking that with Nkunku coming back, things can change, hopefully,” Leboeuf told EPSN.

For now, Nkunku is still sidelined through injury and a return isn’t imminent.

Well-respected journalist Simon Phillips reported via his Substack that Nkunku is expected back in full team training November/December.

Therefore, Chelsea will need to find a way to start scoring more without him in this next period.

Everyone’s aware it’s not right to pin so much reliance on the £195,000-a-week Frenchman (Spotrac), especially when he’s not even made his debut in English football.

However, so much of what we liked in pre-season centred around him and we suspect he’ll be a vital starter under Pochettino when he’s available.
