Real Madrid Ready to sign Chelsea star this summer – and it’s not Hazard or Courtois

Chelsea have been fighting Real Madrid to keep some of their star players in Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, however this summer the fight might be on to keep another player.

Marcos Alonso is reportedly on the La Liga side’s radar to make a surprise return to the club where he first plied his trade as a youngster.

The 27-year-old has been in superb form for Chelsea in the past to seasons since making the move back to the Premier League from Fiorentina after a spell at Bolton and Sunderland.

However, according to Spanish publication Don Balon it could be just two seasons at Stamford Bridge for Alonso with Madrid looking to re-sign him this summer.

The Champions League winners already have top left-back Marcelo on their books, however it is believed that club president Florentino Perez is keen to bring back Alonso and he could be a useful player to have with his versatility.

Madrid have more pressing issues at the moment, however, with the search on for a new manager after Zinedine Zidane surprisingly stepped down from the position.

There have been reports from Spain that the reason was due to Zidane not getting his transfer requests in Hazard and Manchester United keeper David De Gea.
