REPORT: Chelsea make final decision on Jules Kounde move to Stamford Bridge ahead of next year
Chelsea remain interested in signing Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde despite failing to reach an agreement with the Spanish side for the 22 year old during the summer transfer window.
According to Evening Standard via Daily Mail, the Blues are ready to submit a new bid for the defender in January.
Chelsea verbally agreed a fee of around £42.7m with Sevilla for Kounde in August only for the Spanish side to raise their asking price closer to his £68million release clause which the Blues decided not to meet.
Kounde was reportedly furious he wasn’t granted a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel remains a big admirer of the France international centre-back and has given the greenlight for the Blues to make another move for the defender in January.
