Chelsea on the verge to agree deal for £100,000 a-week midfielder.
According to reports, Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is reportedly in line for signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge after electing to stay at the club during the transfer window.
The Italy international was heavily linked with a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer, however, Jorginho ultimately stayed at Stamford Bridge for the 2020-21 season.
Now, according to AreaNapoli, the 28-year-old midfielder will be offered improved contract by Chelsea owing to his loyalty to the team, with Jorginho’s current deal with Frank Lampard’s team set to end in the summer of 2023.
The Brazilian-born midfielder has turned out 102 times in blue since arriving from Serie A giants Napoli back in 2018, founding back of the net 12 times in that time, including three penalties in the current Premier League season.
Chelsea return to top-flight action with a home fixture against Saints on Saturday after the international break, during which Jorginho has already played the full 90 minutes in Serie A’s goalless stalemate with Poland in the UEFA Nations League.
Chelsea another star Antonio Rudiger could sign a new deal despite rumours linking him with a departure from Stamford Bridge, German centre-back has being frustrated with the limited first-team minutes at the club.
